MUÑOZ, Isabela — Benito Go Que and Jose Torres shared the spotlight in the first leg of the Philippine Homing Pigeon Association (PHA) North Young Birds and Old Birds Series 2013 here last Oct. 20.Go Que’s winning entry — a pencil pied hen out of Old MLine 153B bloodline and PHA-13-1301631 — topped the event with a speed of 1,309.50 meter per minute.Go Que’s chequered white flight hen bred by Santiago Lao and PHA-13-1303627 finished second with a time of 1,303. 234 meter per minute.

John Joriz’s black cheq hen out of Fighting Spirit line and Australia Wickham line and PHA-13-1301754 took third place with a time of 1,303.026.

The other notable Young Birds finishers are Jose Torres, fourth place ; Johnson Si, fifth; Rey So, sixth; Ferdinand Chua, seventh; Luis Chui, eighth; Benito Go Que, ninth; and Henry Tan, 10th.

In the Old Birds Series, Torres’ birds swept the top three places.

Torres’ blue bar hen out of Sister Sire Pure Bekaerts Imported X Tiger line and PHA-07-0072558, timed 1,301.915 meter per minute for first place.

Second place went to Torres’ blue cheq hen out of Tiger line origin and PHA-13-1326709 with a speed of 1,301.784 meter per minute.

Third place, on the other hand, went to Torres’ blue bar hen out of Sister Sire Pure Bekaerts Imported X Tiger line and PHA-13-2101030 with a speed of 1,301.531 meter per minute.

Also making it are Jaime “Jimi” Lim, Johnson Si, Jaime “Jimi” Lim, Paquito Ngo, Jaime “Jimi” Lim, Benito Go Que and Emmanuel Go.

Racing chairman Nelson Chua said a total of 1,016 birds out of 1,193 from 60 lofts were clocked in the Young Birds series and 492 birds out of 530 from 43 lofts were clocked in the Old Birds Series.

The second of the seven-part PHa North Series will be held in Vigan, Ilocos Sur today.
